MANZANITA SPEEDWAY HAS BEEN SOLD AND IS SCHEDULED TO BE TORN DOWN. I have had this idea for awhile, about helping promote the fact and increase awareness, that our old and very storied race tracks and speedways in the United States are going out of business. Dirt tracks that have operated for decades are at risk of becoming condominiums. I have just never made anything happen with it. Anyways, the worst possible thing that could happen, has happened, and that is, that my own local dirt track had been bought, and is being torn down. All that in the next 30 days! The track is , the legendary Manzanita Speedway in Phoenix, Arizona, home of the Western World Championships. It has been sold and is being torn down! It was purchased on 3/11/ 2009. The deal was announced on Thursday, 03/12/2009 The last race date is April 11, 2009

I do not care how or who or what gets it done. I dont care if you do it or I do it or who does it, I want to see this place saved. Historical, hell yes. Worth saving becasue it's the best racing on the planet? HELL YES! This is MANZY! Please, please, please, lets save this place. call freinds, call anyone you ever took there. Maybe we should have a meeting at the track, we can exchange ideas, the fact is, I will do anything. People please don't let this happen. This is sooo wrong. We are about to loose one of our oldest and dearest friends. Friends like this don't come along often, and I for one can not let this friend go without a fight. This friend has been a huge part of my life as well as all of your life’s. The friend I speak of is Manzanita Speedway, and i am still in shock of this terrible news. I am willing to do anything, but I do not know how or what to do. Let's all talk, help me. I am willing to invest time, money, this website, my energy and efforts! I have had the domain name savethetracks.com for a while. I hated when I heard of any track closing, but now it is in our backyard, and it is our beloved Manzy. I cannot believe nor can I fathom the thought of no Manzanita Speedway. It just does not make sense. I am open to any ideas. Please people of Phoenix, this is our diamond, this almost 60 year old, LEGEND of a track. For Arizona it is a very significant piece of history. This place is world famous. I have meant people from all overt the world who have traveled to Arizona to visit one of the most famous dirt tracks in the world. Motorsports history goes straight through Manzanita. The track that Champions built is an understatement. Let’s do something, please! I will help, donate, make calls, post info, listen to ideas, ANYTHING i can. Lets band together, the time is here, this is not someone else’s track, it's ours. It's Manzy, please people, let's at least try. Because when this one is gone, IT'S GONE FOR GOOD, there is no building what it took decades to become. We must try, this is MANZANITA SPEEDWAY!
